The Belgrade Theatre is a registered Arts Award Supporter, with members of staff currently trained as advisers in the Bronze and Silver Awards.
We have a range of activities available that are designed to support children and young people in achieving across the full range of Arts Awards.

Discover:
Part A – discover
- Participate in a Belgrade Schools workshop.
- Take part in a backstage tour and hear about the range of art forms presented in a professional theatre
- Attend a performance at the theatre
Part B – find out
- Attend a performance at the theatre and take part in a Page to Stage session after the show.
Explore:
Part A – inspire
- Participate in a Belgrade Schools workshop.
Part B – explore
- Take part in a backstage tour and put your questions to an industry professional.
Part C – create
- Take part in a workshop designed to explore a theme, story or idea practically.
- Attend a performance at the theatre and, following the show, work with a Belgrade practitioner to explore the play and create an original response to the story.
Bronze:
Part A – explore the arts as a participant
Participate in a Belgrade Schools workshop.
Part B – explore the arts as an audience member
- Attend a performance at the theatre
- Take part in a post-show Q&A at the theatre.
Part C – arts inspiration
- Visit the theatre and be introduced to the work of a director or playwright.
- Attend a performance at the theatre and hear about the work of the director or playwright before or after the show.
Silver:
Unit 1, Part C – review arts events
- Attend a performance at the theatre.
- Take part in a post-show Q&A at the theatre. .
Unit 1, Part D – arts research
- Take part in an Open Doors careers day, or book an Insight workshop, to find out about careers development for theatre practitioners.
- Take part in a one week Belgrade work placement (young people aged 16+).
Gold:
Unit 1, Part B – identify development opportunities with the wider arts sector
- Take part in a one week Belgrade work placement (young people aged 16+).
- Volunteer on a Belgrade Community & Education programme (young people aged 16+).
- Meet a Belgrade theatre professional to talk about participation in the arts.
- Take part in a Belgrade workshop or attend a talk or backstage tour.
Unit 1, Part C – research advanced practitioners and review arts events
- Attend a performance at the theatre.
- Take part in a post-show Q&A at the theatre.
- Take part in a one week Belgrade work placement (young people aged 16+).
Unit 1, Part D – form and communicate a view on an arts issue
- During visits to the theatre, work experience or volunteering we are happy to discuss a young person’s chosen issue.
- Book a tailored backstage tour. Hear about some of the current issues in professional theatre and have the opportunity to discuss them with an industry professional.
