Rosa Cisneros reads a story about a young boy from a Roma community as part of our Coventry Welcomes celebrations
As part of our Coventry Welcomes festival celebrations, we’re delighted to be working with Rosa Cisneros of the Roma Project and Coventry University’s Centre for Dance Research for today’s Storytime.
With this month marking Gypsy Roma Traveller History Month, she chose to read The Lost Homework, a story written by Richard O’Neill and illustrated by Kirsti Beautyman which offers children a beautiful insight into the Roma traveller community.
Earlier this year, we worked with Rosa to present an online preview of a photographic exhibition titled Generations, which we hope to showcase in full when we reopen. The exhibition features photos of Roma families in Coventry, and you can check it out here. You can also find out more about our Coventry Welcomes programme here.
