Everyone at the Belgrade is absolutely heartbroken to hear about the sad passing of our former colleague and beloved member of the Belgrade family, Hannah Barker, who died on Sunday 18 February.
Hannah was a true force of nature, with endless energy. Her untiring support of artists and communities across Coventry and the UK, was an inspiration to everyone who had the pleasure of working with her. Her incredible legacy will be felt by generations to come, and she will be desperately missed by all of us here at the Belgrade.
Our Creative Director, Corey Campbell, said, “Hannah was a friend and one-time mentor to me. A person whose generosity knew no limits, and whose care and consideration knew no boundary.
“Her work for the Belgrade Theatre will never be forgotten, and her early support of my first theatre company, Strictly Arts, gave us skills that continue to support our personal careers to this day. My friend and comrade, rest easy.”
We send our love and strength to Hannah’s partner, and long-term Belgrade collaborator, Nick Walker, their son, and all of her family, and many friends.
